LA ENCHANTADORA ~ Project in the Making .. II

I first blogged on LAENCHANTADORA here. Well the metalwork is ready. Even in its 'raw' state, i can see the piece will be a yummy eye candy with the large excellent cut 4.5ct (diamond equivalent) OEC SparklingLizzie. MoniV certainly thinks so too. The metalwork is on its way back to the bench. Stay tuned .. perhaps in 2 weeks time. Meanwhile, see right for some hints ;)

Passionate About the PASSION CUT

I am excited .. this SparklingLizzie PASSION CUT in Canary Yellow sparkles like no other. Like the modified Emerald Cut, the dimension of this stone is proportioned at 1:1.5 which gives it an elongated and elegant, majestic look. This client has definitely chosen the right color for this cut. See how well it shows the 'scissor' faceting and when it is hit with any kind of light, the fire and the brilliance is just out of this world!

LA ENCHANTADORA ~ Project in the Making

I am so happy to be working with Moni again. We had quite a few fantastic projects in the past. How well I remember how she drew up a List of Projects which could keep me busy for a full year! .. and as we went along, the list would get updated with completed projects and new ones added in. There were a few unfinished very nice designs, and I hope we can continue with this list.. We are already in discussion to do up a halo pendant even before LA ENCHANTADORA takes shape! :)

Well, I won't be letting 'cat out of the bag' too much but I can say LA ENCHANTADORA is a ring and it involves a 9mm Old European Cut Lizzie in ~MN color ..

I hope to get the metalwork up in the next couple of days so stay tuned :)

She Likes Them BiG

I have always enjoy working with Karen .. who wouldn't be if you get to work with LARGE stones which are full of FIRE! Going thru my record, there have been 8 projects with Karen since 2004. Wow that's 2 per year! All have been rings and they are no narrower than 9mm bandwidth, except for the 2 MUST HAVE bands.

Karen's latest acquisition is LORRAINE .. it started out with 9.5mm Princess Cut with pouffy sides, aka Antique Princess Cut in H color.

Compare the Princess Cut with the Antique Princess Cut.

And abt 3 weeks later .. from this ..

to this .. ENJOY !

How 'JACKIE' came to be

One of my later creation JACKIE began from an idea of a 3-stone ring. After much deliberation, she decided on the Flanders Brilliant with Shield sides ..

After several weeks, the metalwork in 18k White Gold

Finally, JACKIE

Thank you C for your kindness, support and most of all for the trust in place in me to do this project for you.

Sincerely,
liz

Emerald Cut in Light Champagne

I have been asked by a dear customer for pictures of my Emerald Cut in Light Champagne color. This emerald cut is a modified version in that the proportion is cut to 1:1.5 ratio.

At certain angle the tone of the champagne is very light to almost a transparent champagne tinge. The tone changes to slightly reddish in incandescent (yellow) light. These are taken in the bright morning sun.

Note for simulants (czs), the larger the stone, the stronger the tone.

This is for you Amy :)
