THE ELEGANT ASSCHER II

It was a true pleasure working with Melissa and Bob - RI, USA. I posted on this project HERE.

The specs:

950 Palladium
7mm (2 ct) Asscher (SparkingLizzie), H color
clear Trapezoid sides

This ring turned out beautifully. Words are nothing without pictures .. so here they are ..

. . and here's how happy Melissa is ..

Liz! It's been on my hand for 5 days now and I just love it :) It's exactly what we wanted, and I've received so many compliments on it. The Sparkling Lizzie is SO sparkly. I have to be honest, I was a little concerned that it wouldn't look "real" but it sparkles like crazy, especially in the sun! Thank you so much for the fast turnaround... he was able to propose when he wanted to, thanks to your speedy delivery :) Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Thank you Melissa and Bob and i hope to work with you again soon.

NEXT PROJECT !!!

Hey Ladies!

I have been commissioned by M and B to work on their e-ring. It's going to be a classic 3-stone ring with the Asscher as the main stone.

I just love these sunlight pictures .. how the stone sparkles each time the light hits the stone.

The sides are clear Step Cut Trapezoids ..

The order is being processed and i can't wait for the metalwork. I hope to work with both M and B a matching band.

Stay tuned !

Presenting . . . FLEUR d'ORLEANS

Two weeks ago I blogged on
"ONE VERY SPECIAL PROJECT COMIN' UP!" .. This project is inspired by the FLEUR de LYS. R tells me it holds very special meaning for her.. it had been a time and a place somewhere in New Orleans .. it must be very special .. she remembers the Fleur de Lys on the wrought iron gate ..

... hence >>>

Ladies, Presenting to you . . . FLEUR d'ORLEANS ..

Her Stats ..

18K solid White Gold
11x9mm H color Asscher (KRUPP-inspired cut), 4-split prong
Fleur de lys motif, milgrained, on N/S side of basket, with diamond rb on each center of the FDL
graduating ~1.25tcw blue natural sapphires , bezel set half eternity band
~2.75mm rounded band

The SPARKLINGLIZZIE rectangular Asscher, inspired by the KRUPP cut is just amazing .. this is really a case of where 'Lush and Blush do not mix' !

Here are some photos I took before the bezels were milgrained.. enjoy !

Taken in the morning SINGAPORE sun :)

These are taken after milgraining the bezel sides ..

The FLEUR de LYS basket gallery ..

She is beautiful piece and a VERY IMPORTANT project between R and me.

Thank you Rebecca !

ADDISON

It was great to hear again from Susan again, with whom I had worked before .. on a modified version of the LI-ANA.

Though a simple design, the presence of ADISSON is OUTSTANDING!! The main stone belongs to Susan and she had arranged to send it to me. The sides are diamonds of FG VVS quality .. very sparkly and full of fire! I am waiting for Susan's handshots .. and will post once i get them. Meanwhile enjoy ..

How I Miss Her ! .. a wonderful customer, a great ally and a wonderful person

I am blessed with many wonderful customers who have turned friends .. Moni you are definitely one of them! It's funny because i have some who say to me that they sometimes regret knowing me... because i tend to ... ahem empty their pockets! .. but hey how else would it be possible to be able to own large and/or pretty pieces of beautiful jewelry at a fraction of the costs !

In this post, I like to pen my special thanks and tribute to Jennifer or J as she often calls herself. We did quite many projects together; some of which became very popular with other customers as well. J was more than a customer, she is a great friend who stood by me during one of my darkest period of my life in 2006 when i disappeared from the jewelry scene. Well, I am so glad I returned to do the work I am so passionate about. Thanks to all my great friends who helped me one way or another. Let no ocean or land be obstacles in the way of great friendship. Lest i forget, these are for you, J .. our projects together :)

DREAMRING .. Both J and I named this piece after the movie, DREAMGIRLS. We both watched the movies at each end of of the Globe .. she being in California and I in Singapore .. LOL. It was one movie which inspired me back to my work..of one Jennifer Hudson who lost her chance of becoming the next American Idol, only to become an Oscar winner for best supporting actress. Way to Go, Jennifer !

Back to DREAMRING.. the center stone is the CAC with small cutlet and the sides are natural blue sapphires and finished off with clear pave rbs and pretty open scrollwork on the basket gallery and sides of the band.

ADRIENNE ... this project was named after J's sister. ADRIENNE is also quite a favorite among my other customers. The ADRIENNE allows a band to sit flushed against the ring.

ANTIQUE BUTTERCUP in white gold. If memory is right, this project was initiated by someone who did not think that it was going to be a fine piece. Midway she dropped it. I however had a different vision and I continued. I am so glad I did because the ABC (Antique ButterCup) became one of the most popular of all my pieces. In fact, J liked it so much that she got a second piece done up in Rose Gold :) See below.

2nd ANTIQUE BUTTERCUP in rose gold basket with diamond pave accent.

The emphasis of this ring is of course the 'buttercup' bowl holding the main stone. You can see how the bench perfected the sharp curve on the inside of the W-bowl - very nicely done! The other feature that stands out is the band which gives it a very antiquey look. Because of the weight of the basket vs the thin band, the ABC is best with a main stone of 8mm or less.

GRACE in rose gold basket. This piece was the brainchild of Moni V. The center stone is a Marigold Cut, flanked by clear trapezoids and baguettes. When i picked up this ring from my bench, I thought it has to be the most handsome of all my rings. You really have to see it personally to really appreciate the understated elegance of this ring. This octagonal bezel ring head will be great for the Octagon Hearts & Arrows.

THE ELEGANT EMERALD .. the center Emerald is a 'squarish' emerald with dimensions of 8x7mm.

JENNI is a start to many later JENNIs.

JAN (a classic favorite). JAN was one of the first projects of LizC Jewelry. Naturally it was named after one of my first customers JanDR. JanDR made lots of jewelry pieces with me and has encouraged me all the way to be where I am today. Sadly I have lost touch with her and hope that if she is reading this post, she would contact me again. It's a long shot but you never know.

MONI with the Emerald cut and side baguettes

MONI - with center stone changed to the Passion Cut

MONI - transformed again to the Emerald Cut in blue sapphire color

OPHELIA with the Octagon H&A. The original JanDR's OPHELIA is here. J's OPHELIA is with the Octagon H&A .. very brilliant and full of fire ! The red rbs are natural red rubies.

so yummy :)

Thank you J for all these wonderful projects and i hope you are doing just fine !

5-Stone Asscher Ring Band

I want to share this project I am doing for Andrea who first contacted me a month ago abt IT'S SO LIZ!. Andrea decides though that before starting on the ISL, that she would like to have a 5-stone ring band with little Asschers done first. Here are the little ones..

In spite being just 4mm, these little Asschers are impressively sparkly and is a welcome change from the usual rounds or princesses.

And now for the nice substantial metalwork .. in 18k White Gold :)

Can't wait to take pictures of this beauty! Will be back with pictures of the completed band. Please come back :) Thank you Andrea!
